Pinhole Camera

1. The main differences that I see between my positive and negative pictures is that a) The colors have been switched and b) The image has been flipped so that the object(s) are now on opposite sides.
2. My negative looks different then my positive because, since the photo paper was light sensitive it was able to pick up the sunlight, which is a negative source. And when developed, the negative picture was able to transfer into a positive photo because I reversed the light to project the negative as a double negative, making thus the positive photo.
3. Due to refraction (the bending of light upon a medium) the picture thus creates that "curve" around the edges.

Composition 9/11

"Lines"- I think it's pretty obvious to why I picked this picture for lines, because lines are what compose most of the photo. giving an effect that this person is falling to something far greater than him/herself.
"Framing"- I picked this photo for framing because the buildings lined on the left and right sides of the photo work as the frame for the people walking in the streets full of rubbish. As an effect, the picture presents a stronger message that if the buildings weren't there, it wouldn't look as surreal as it is with the framing buildings.
"Simplicity"- I picked this photo for simplicity because you're not focused on anything except for the eagle.=)
<3
"Th Rule Of Thirds"- I picked this photo for The Rule Of Thirds because the subject (being the girl) is not directly in the middle of the picture, she's more of in the right-hand corner. Which gives the effect that the girl is reacting to the tragedy the is just in front of her.
" Balance"- I picked this photo for balance because you're kinda looking at everything going on here. It's kind of ironic because while everything is so neat and balanced in the store, there is tragedy happening within the nation.

Single Lens Camera

Inside of Camera
  • Single Lens Reflex Camera- In the single-lens reflex camera the photographer sees the scene through the camera lens.
  • Pentaprism- five-sided reflecting prism used to deviate a beam of light by 90°.
  •  Image sensor- is a device that converts an optical image to an electric signal.
  • Parallax- an apparent displacement or difference in the apparent position of an object viewed along two different lines of sight, and is measured by the angle or semi-angle of inclination between those two lines.
  • aperture- a hole or an opening through which light travels.
  • shutter- a device that allows light to pass for a determined period of time, for the purpose of exposing photographic film or a light-sensitive electronic sensor to light to capture a permanent image of a scene.
  • exposure-The size of the aperture and the brightness of the scene controls the amount of light that enters the camera during a period of time, and the shutter controls the length of time that the light hits the recording surface.
  • depth of field- the portion of a scene that appears acceptably sharp in the image.
  • F-stop- expresses the diameter of the entrance pupil in terms of the focal length of the lens; in simpler terms, the f-number is the focal length divided by the "effective" aperture diameter.
  • focal length- a measure of how strongly the system converges (focuses) or diverges (defocuses) light.

Pinhole photos

I like this photo because it is very unique-looking and warped. I like how the lighting and the angles make this picture look very odd, yet professional at the same time. I like how the focus is sharp, but at the same time it's still soft. The subject, at first, it didn't look like a bike but once I really looked into the detailing it really caught my eye. I don't know there's just something about this picture that intrigues me to wonder about the story the photographer was trying to portray.

I don't like this picture because it looks like the photographer was in a rush to take it and it looks warped. You can't really tell what the subject is doing because the photo is so blurry do to too soft focus in an action shot. It just doesn't look professional at all, . It looks like a person just decided to pick up a camera and started snapping pictures and not really paying attention to what he/she was doing.
